Dressing like a cow = free food, I am totally in.

Chick-fila is one of the best "fast food" restaurants, it's clean, the people are nice and they offer place mats for heaven's sake. This last Friday if you dressed like a cow you got a free meal. Not a drink, or just a side, but a MEAL people! You even got to choose which one you wanted. So being the frugal person I am I was totally in, they even gave you the stuff to print off on their website.

Holly had a birthday party so Josh and I went on a lunch date.

I love the tail.

My garden

My garden is getting a little sad. It has been soooo hot here and not enough rain. I pulled out my sweet peas and my lettuce this weekend. I did plant some pumpkins, sunflowers, and basil I hope that they come up. Here are some pics of the things growing in my garden. First up I have my banana peppers, I'm not sure if they're suppose to get yellower than this?

Then we have corn, yeah I can't wait to taste it.

Here are my zinnias, I think that they are beautiful.

And we also have a bunch of watermelons. Don is pointing it out, because they camouflage well in the foliage. We also have bell peppers, zucchini, cucumbers, tomatoes (green), onions, a few green onions, and herbs. I can't wait until the tomatoes ripen and I can can them!

Playgroup, at the waterpark?

Our wards playgroup was suppose to be at the duck pond, but our old wards playgroup was meeting at the water park. You guessed it, we went to the water park. What is a water park you may ask, just that, a park that has all these spigots of water, or buckets that fill with water and dump down on you, or cannons that shoot water, basically a place to cool off. I was sitting under the pavilion and getting hugs from my wet kids every now and then to keep cool. We brought buckets to fill and throw water at other kids, but Holly commandeered this watering can from some other child. Don't worry we gave it back before we left.

Don't tell, shhhhh

Okay, so I will probabaly regret sharing this, because it will get back to my family. But, I have been sneaking zucchini into as many dishes as possible. Don doesn't like zucchini and the kids aren't so fond of it. I started out diceing it up and sauting it with onion and putting it in speghetti sauce. Then I grated it really fine and put it in our homemade hamburgers. There is no telling where I will sneak it in next. Any suggestions? Don't tell my husband, I want to tell him in a couple of months so I can be like see you didn't even know.

What isle did they come on?

Seriously, this is my kids favorite spot to be when I shop. If I can at all avoid taking them to do big shopping I do, but we had been out of town and it was time to do my monthly shopping s I was desperate. I have to say I was proud of them, they were really good as I dragged them to all my stores. Even at the last store I would point to an item and say, "Holly I need 3 cans of this, Josh I need 5 packages of these", and they thought it was fun to put it in the cart. You know you might need a 12 step shopping program when you just have to buy ketchup that is 48oz marked down to a dollar, but you have a coupon for 20 cents that you know the store will double making it 60 cents. This is not so bad, but when you already have 8 bottles at home, you should probably admit, you have an addiction!

Water + Park= Fun

For playgroup we went the fountains downtown. Right across a little street is this fun park. I love the thing that looks like all the kids are in circular cage. They all go in there and hold on like little monkeys; then someone runs while holding on to the outside and it goes round and round. Let me tell you, when that thing is full and if you're the only person spinning it, you get a nice little work out.

This was the perfect outing for this day. It has been like 90's to 100's lately and all the kids got cool. While the moms talked and ate homemade salsa, thanks Lindsey. We love summer fun with friends. I love watching Alice rock out to the music that they played here. I was right there with you sister!

On the road again

Here are some pictures at a rest stop on the way home. The kids are doing their superhero poses. I think that Josh is being Buzz Lightyear and Holly is Princess Pea, flying.

I did this picture using our timer. I think that I should have zoomed in a bit.
