School Field Trip

My kids' principal is an adventurous woman. She decided to take the WHOLE school on a field

trip! This last week it was Dr. Seuss' birthday. 'The Lorax' the movie was coming out, so what perfect timing. The kids studied from Dr. Seuss books the last two weeks. In Josh's class they talked about pollution and the enviroment. Even math was taught in a Seussy way.

The kids were soooo excited to go. I went to chaperone in Holly's class. I guess we had a huge chaperone turn out, because the only kid I was asked to watch was Holly.

Each child got a High-C and a small bag of popcorn. It was great and I loved the movie. I thought it had a powerful message, and it has inspired me to do a new baby quilt. I am so blessed to be able to go with the kids to things like these.

We started!

This saturday we started to demo, the soon (ok soon is a relative term) to be Josh room. Don and I went in there with hammers and a crow bar and started to demolish the exisiting walls. Special note to the people who previously owned this home. When doing a remodel job;
1. Don't just staple the wires to the framing, you go to hang up a picture and the next thing you know you are electricuted!

2. When framing your studs should not go flat against the cinder block, but T into it.

3. Seal all foundation before you close it up. You know fill in the cracks and then seal it so moisture doesn't build up and cause mold or such.

4. Insallation is important to put in, it will cut down your power bill.

5. Covering power lines with crown molding doesn't work either.

6. We do thank you for putting in a newer window.

7. Doors are liked on bedrooms.

8. Lastly, power boxes do not belong in closets, even if the closet was an after thought, it can be a fire safety issue.

We thank you for the idea of the room. It helped us to envision what it could be when buying the home and now we hope to fix all these errors and make a bedroom for our son.

Healthy

Nope this is not about Weight Watchers. The other day I was getting Josh's lunch ready and being quite lazy. I didn't want to put a healthy snack in just a quick one. He saw what I was putting in and said, "Mom, I don't like those.".
I looked down and said, "Fruit snacks? Spider man fruit snacks?".
Josh, "Yep.".
Me, "What don't you like about them?".
Josh " I don't like the way they taste, and they're not healthy for you either.

Me: Dumbfounded look on my face!
So there you have it from a 7 year old boy.
WE SHOULD EAT THINGS THAT ARE HEALTHY FOR US!!!!
