Look Mom!

I'm just so proud of my plants. If you didn't know this before, I love plants. I would love to have one of those gardens, no, I AM going to have one of those gardens where your yard has different garden rooms each unique and different. I have the idea tucked away, for after swing sets and kids running around in the backyard. For now I love my pots. I wanted to post these so my mom could see. Starting with picture one (top) I got a Gerber Daisy and my strawberries are doing great (Shortly after this was taken some animal came and enjoyed them). Picture number 2, I finally planted some coleus. I've always wanted to, there are so many different kinds with varying colors and shapes, they fascinate me. Picture 3, my "Roc Berry" or as mom and I call the stick actually has 3 berries this year. Picture 4, my begonia are loving this spot, I hope they make it through the summer. My petunias aren't doing bad either. So this is a porch sum up.

Schools almost out!

I can't believe that Josh has less than two weeks of school left. He will no longer be my baby boy. He will actually be in numbered school classes. Where does the time go! He is growing up so fast. I have been trying to plan some fun things to do this summer. I will blog as we go.

I've Planted!

I finally finished planting my veggie garden. I am sure there will be lots of pictures through the summer so get ready. I planted
*2 types of corn
*carrots
*bell peppers
*banana peppers
*cucumbers
*potatoes
*3 types of tomatoes
*dill
*oregano
*basil
*rosemary
*lavender
*green beans
*sweet peas
*watermelon
*pumpkins (to come in later)
*beets
*honeydew melon
*zuccihini
I think that is everything. I am way excited. Hopefully everything will grow well.

Stumbled on some fun.

So I took the kids to the mall on Saturday thinking that we were going to see some guy doing some sort of dinosaur thing. Like juggling bones and such. But as we neared the area it would be in I realized I got my dates confused and that was going to be the next week. I thought oh well we would still get the kids signed up for the mall kids club. They get a free backpack, t-shirts, a different activity to go to once a month and get to spin the wheel of fun and get a prize every time we go to the mall. Not bad for a one time payment of 5 dollars.

So we did see there was something going on. It was this thing called stay cation. There were lots of places giving things away and the State Fairs mascot, the Aquariums mascot, and clowns!

The clowns did blow up balloon animals and face painting. Holly got a butterfly on her face and Josh got Elmo on his arm (he did NOT want anything on his face). All in all the kids had fun and that is all that mattered.

Inner battle

So all week long I had an inner battle with myself. We have been asked to go to the temple. I was assigned to go this last Saturday. Well, the temple is a 3 hour drive one way, and I was letting that stand in my way. Plus the fact that I was going to get to plant my garden on Saturday. I was trying to figure every which way of not going. I finally decided that 3 hours was not as far as many that save all year to go (thank you Ensign) and that I need to obedient. So I decided I would wake-up early and go to a 6 am session. Thus getting home earlier and still be able to plant my garden. Well, they don't have a 6 am session. So, I thought okay I will go Friday evening. I will run out the door as Don is coming in. I told Don my plan, he said he would do his best to get home. I got dinner going in a crock pot so it would be ready for my family. Showered and got all dressed. Got my temple bag ready, and thought make sure your recommend is in their. Then Heavenly Father said look at it, so I did. It expired last month.

I did feel good because I had made the right decision. The funny thing is I didn't even get to plant anything. We did running around town first and when we got done it was raining. Oh well at least I conquered the inner battle.

The Shirt!

I first saw this shirt on Lori's blog she has the tutorial her site and if I knew how to do that little push here and it will connect you thing I would but I don't sorry. So I wanted to make the shirt. I went and bought fabric for one shirt for me and 3 for Holly. I finally finished the Holly ones and now it is my turn. After probably this project is finally complete and I learned some sewing lessons. Now I am off to some new sewing adventures. The second pictures is a pose from Lori's site that was copied from the original site. I would go on, but then I would be tempted to start pointing out all the flaws. So we will stop here with yeah, I finished.

Yormmu

(Okay, so this is the worst picture ever, but I have been trying to post this all week long and whenever I took the picture my computer wouldn't accept it. )

Earlier this week Holly was coloring pictures to give to her friends. Yormmu (asked Holly how to spell it) is a friend, or sister, or grandmother (whatever suits her purpose at the time) that Holly talks about. I guess she is an imaginary friend. Yormmu never comes to our house. When I asked where she lived Holly drew a map in the air and said (pointing) she lives way over her. She lives too far away to visit. Yormmu often comes up in conversation and Holly really misses her. By the way the pronunciation is Your-ma. So if you see Yormmu around tell her Holly says, "Hi!".
